(Inspired by the book, Great Everyday- Max Lucado)

Psalm 118:24 - "This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."

In each of the Scriptures listed below, the person(s) highlighted went into the day thinking that all was lost and broken. But then the Gospel of Jesus MADE THE DAY!  Will your next experience BREAK you or will God MAKE something better from it?

  • July 28 - Ungrateful to Grateful - Luke 17:11-18
  • August 4 - Catastrophe to Hope - Phil. 1:12-18
  • August 11 - Depletion to Energy - Mark 6:30-44
  • August 18 - Aimless to Purposeful - Mark 15:21
  • August 25 - Anxiety to Trust - Luke 11:3

Third City Christian - Broken Bow

Projected Launch Date:  Sunday, October 13, 2019

There is a lot of excitement stirring for the fall launch of Third City Christian Church Broken Bow!  The remodeling of the church facility is underway. The Grand Island staff is actively planning fall training and launch strategies. Publicity is beginning to circulate in the community we are ready to get going! We are grateful that a local retirement facility - Brookstone - has opened their doors so the remnant from the former First Christian Church could meet. Now it is time to think forward to a new church in Broken Bow!

Maybe you are wondering, "how can I help this work to succeed"?

As we transition to a new church over the next two months, both staff and volunteers from Grand Island will be needed to train people in Broken Bow. Third City will need to prepare the volunteers needed to offer a quality worship experience, scaled down kids ministry during church services and the fall Rooted experience for example.

First and foremost, continue praying for a great launch that reaches many people for Christ. Keep Doren Michael in your prayers as he leads on the ground in Custer County as the campus minister.

If you know of ANYONE in the general vicinity of Custer County who might be interested in being a part of the new church, invite them! Tell them about Third City coming to Broken Bow on October 13. Ask them if you can give their contact information to Doren (doren@thirdcityc.org).  When you invite them, you may want to offer to join them on October to help them find their way!

There will be opportunities for people from Grand Island to be a part of the training personnel who will assist the people there in learning the “Third City” way of serving. If you are a volunteer in: If you want to help, contact the person overseeing that particular ministry.

Our hope is for a great start to a new church in Custer County!  Please pray with us that God will move powerfully!

Christian Heritage

Offering Hope To Children & Families

There are 4,642 state wards in Nebraska. Of that number, 94 live in Hall County. Christian Heritage believes God has a family for every child and that God’s family should be the ones caring for them. They want these children to grow in faith, within a Christian home. This summer, our Kid's Ministry is partnering with Christian Heritage to help these children grow in their faith. Our Kid's Ministry offering from Sunday morning Groove, Pre-K Palooza, and Palooza is being used to purchase Bibles for these children. Each Bible costs $25. Already this summer our kids have generously given nearly $400. If you would like to help our Kid's Ministry purchase Bibles, please email Taryn Kohmetscher. Make sure you stop by Christian Heritage’s table in the Plaza this Sunday to learn more about who they are, what they do, and how you can support foster kids and foster families in Nebraska.
