Celebration Sunday Oct. 1st

At all three of our services Sunday, October 1st, we will celebrate how God is moving in our church! We will have our annual meeting of the congregation, where our members vote to affirm the 2018 budget. We will also be asked to affirm the call of Paul Clark to serve as Executive Minister. Paul’s duties will include developing and leading staff, plus overseeing our financial and facilities operations. Paul and his wife Sarah are excited about how the Lord is leading them into ministry!  You will be hearing more about Paul as we move toward October.
To vote at a meeting you must be an active member of the church and at least
18 years of age. Member lists are posted at the main office and at The Hub.

Scott returns from Ascent Leader Conference

Our church family makes it possible for our director staff to pursue continuing education through various conferences and retreats.  We do this on a rotation basis so that two or three of the staff participate in an opportunity yearly.  Scott was invited to attend “The Ascent Leader” conference - a three part experience that took him to three church locations to learn from some of the most innovative leaders in America.  Church Development Fund helped sponsor Scott by giving him the event tuition-free, and the church covered his expenses for travel.  Scott attended his third and final phase of Ascent in Chicago last week.

Scott writes,
“I want to thank our church for seeing the need to continually fill our ministry buckets so that we can lead our ministries from the best place possible!  The Ascent Leader conference allowed me to gain a greater grasp of my role as a leader and at the same to learn from some of the most passionate and gifted Christian leaders in our country.  Over the last several months, the content and encouragement I gained from Ascent has helped me to draw closer to God, better define my calling, make needed decisions in my particular area of ministry, gain some great connections with world class ministers and leaders and bring valuable knowledge to our church.  Thank you for investing in me and our staff so that we can serve you at our best!”

Thank you Third City!

September Is National Recovery Month

The purpose of “Celebrate Recovery” is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. We share our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another, and we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our life problems. “CR” meets Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM.

Celebrate Recovery is actively looking for those who wish to serve in child care 2 1/2 hours a month, assisting the lead child care provider. If you are called to serve in this way, please contact Connie Hein.

Third City Small Groups
Small Groups consist of people with different backgrounds coming together in order to worship together, serve others and grow in Christ to become more like Him. Groups average in size of 4-12 people. As you make Third City Christian Church your home, small groups are a catalyst to make your faith both rich and deep. We have added several new groups to our Group Finder!
