CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES -  2017

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year and presents us with one of the best chances to solidify the evangelistic-focused DNA in our church. Because the fact is, the friends and neighbors that you have been inviting to church but have so far said no will actually consider coming on Christmas Eve! Approximately 25% of the people who will make Third City their church home in the future will come to a Christmas Eve service this year.  What can you do to introduce a friend you care about to Jesus? Well, you can start by inviting them to a Christmas Eve service with you!

Here are just a few ideas on how to do this:
Know when the services will be held so that when they ask you can be accurate. 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (We anticipate that the 9:30 am and 3:00 pm services will be fullest, so consider volunteering to serve at one of those services and attending at 11:00 or 5:00)

Take a risk! Decide which service you and your family will attend, then invite them to come to that service with you. Serve in guest ministries at one of the other services so that you can sit with your friend in the service. If the service is full and you aren't attending with a guest, sit in The Plaza where services will be simulcast. Arrive early, park far away and consider yourself a greeter/ambassador from the moment you enter the parking lot.

This is one of the biggest days God uses to catapult a life towards transformation!

December Series: "Christmas Miracles"
God wants us to ask Him for whatever we need, including things that might require a miracle. We all want to see Him move powerfully in our lives, but doubt is always a factor. In the birth narratives of Jesus Christ, we find many miracles that surprisingly apply to us!
December 3rd: ASK
December 10th: EXPECT
December 17th: WAIT
December 24th: FOLLOW

This year for Christmas Third City is joining Current Christian Church in Katy, Texas to help re-build a house. Families in this area were devastated by Hurricane Harvey. If you would like to donate simply write a check to Third City Christian Church, and in the memo write "Hurricane Relief" or "Hope for Houston". You can also give online through PushPay using the "Missions" category. For more information, contact Kathy Eihusen.

Third City families that need assistance for Christmas will be referred to the United Way Toys for Tots program. All referrals need to be made by December 1st. Contact Kathy Eihusen for more information.

Annual Harvest Dinner - This Sunday
after the 9:30 and 11:00 services

Sunday, November 19th, after the 9:30 and 11:00 services, we will convene at the Northwest High School Cafeteria for the annual Harvest Dinner. It is a traditional turkey meal where you provide a side dish and/or a dessert. Not only is this a terrific gathering of fellowship and celebration, but it is a fun event to invite friends to. Food from this event is then distributed to the GIFD to feed those on duty and also for them to distribute to families in the community. It's not too late to help, sign up online or contact Corey & Ashley Schneider for more information.

Baby Dedication - This Sunday
9:30 AM and 11:00 AM services
Registration deadline is TOMORROW, November 16th

This Sunday, November 19th is an opportunity for those of you who are new parents to thank God for the precious gift of your child and to publicly declare your intentions to raise your child in a Christian home. Although many of you have already done this in your hearts, the public announcement makes you accountable to God and the church. This is a benchmark you can return to time and time again.

Baby Dedication is where you as parents commit yourselves to abide by biblical principles and to raise your children according to God's truth. Not only are you dedicating your child to God, you are dedicating yourselves, as parents, to Christ and His church. You are committing yourselves to maintaining a Christian home, where Christ is honored and the Word of God is held in awe.

What About Baptism?

Baby Dedication at TCCC does not involve baptism. We believe that baptism is meant to take place at a time when an individual makes a personal decision to follow Christ and is old enough to repent of sin and confess Jesus publicly.

Because of the celebratory nature of that day, we encourage parents to invite other family members and to come to the dinner that follows.

Registration deadline is Thursday, November 16th
