What’s the high school plan for 20-21?
As we’ve navigated through the challenges of the upcoming school year and our responsibility in COVID care, we’ve set a previous dream of ours into motion for our high school students: Element Life Houses
Element Life Houses are an opportunity to make church “smaller” while still being able to connect in meaningful, personal ways.
An Element Life House will consist of one host and two to three element coaches. Groups will gather, hang out, engage in element content, and then break up into small groups for discussion and prayer.
A host home will consist of a person or couple from the Third City family that has the spiritual gift of hospitality. These hosts will be well supported and background checked to our element ministry standards.
When?
Opening night is September 9th @ TCCC
Programming from 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM.
After opening night, ministry will happen in Life Houses, opening @ 6:45 PM and closing @ 8:30 PM
What COVID care will be provided?
2020 has proven to us the undeniable value of relationships and peer community in students’ lives. We will always do whatever we can for students to be known, valued, and loved. This happens in multiple arenas - classrooms, activities, and at church.
To help ensure that students continue to have this opportunity to engage in community and build relationships, we are asking that students please wear a face covering when attending Element or their Life House starting this fall. If your student’s face covering is lost or forgotten we will have additional coverings available at their location. We are hoping this will be limited to only the near future and will be communicating any changes as they come.
Third City has used the CDHD as a guiding point for decision making since the beginning of COVID. This request falls within the guidelines as stated on their directed health measure for stage 3 and 4 of our health district: 6-ft distance between groups and recommendations of staff and patrons to use facial coverings.
Students, please wear a face mask
Temp checks will be the first step of the check-in process
Element staff and coaches will be wearing face coverings (re-evaluated monthly)
Of course, if your student or immediate family are ill or have any symptoms whatsoever, stay home that week. Have your student text your coach to let them know they’ll be absent and encourage them to check in on that week’s content / scripture.
