Jesus’ Throne - Invited by Christ. Not Bob Barker.
Revelation 4:1
After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here…”
Wow! What would your first thought be if those words were spoken to you, through the door of heaven?
“Hey Drew… come over here, let me show you something.”
I don’t know about you, but if God said that to me, I’d probably be looking around to make sure He was actually talking to me.I mean, He knows who I am after all, right? It seems a bit incredulous to me.Almost like the Price is Right “Come on Down!!!”
The idea of standing in the throne room of Christ has inspired many songs… Better is One Day, I Can Only Imagine, and countless others. The throne of Christ is a place of grace, mercy, forgiveness, and peace. We should know that our God wants us, individually, to be able to worship His Son at His throne. That’s what is different about Christianity; we don’t need someone to go between us and Christ. We are invited in. So now what?
Revelation 4 paints us a beautiful picture of the splendor of the throne of Christ, a splendor that Christ Himself died to offer each of us. Imagine how the music must sound there!?!He overcame the power of sin and death, so that we can be with Him there. A place of worship.A place of forgiveness.A place that we have been invited into by the sacrifice of Christ. Will you go in?
