Week 2- Monday, June 28 Who is the Christ we worship? Doren Michael
Who is the Christ we worship? Do we really understand the depth and magnitude of the being of our Lord Jesus Christ? Sure, we acknowledge Him as our Savior, our Redeemer, and even our Friend. The beauty of our Lord is in the complicated nature of His being, with the simplicity of His sacrificial act of obedience unto death. His resurrection results in our opportunity to commune with Him and have life everlasting. The scriptures speak of Him as being with God from the beginning, in God, and with God. All things were created by Him. In truth, Christ and God are one, yet two distinct beings. How crazy is that! He came as a child, a human being with all of man’s physical frailties and subject to pain. He knew his place. He would grow and take on His ministry with passion and confidence. He would be oppressed, smitten, bruised, and suffered mightily because upon His shoulders the sins of the world would be cast. He went to the cross and bore our sins, like a lamb to the slaughter. As a man He gave it all up so that we might enter into communion with God. As Christ, He sits on the right hand of God and rules the world! Yes, the being of our Lord is complicated, but the relationship we can have is simple to gain. Simply say “Yes, Lord,” to His grace and our lives can change forever.
